Refugee Services
Many of our clients are UNHCR asylum seekers in various legal circumstances that have inhibited their recognition and resettlement processes. Due to the lack of knowledge of requirements, many have been insufficient in organizing their documentation for the UNHCR or IOM and have thus remained in Jordan for long periods of time.
The following are common reasons for delayed refugee recognition and resettlement:
- Lacking proper documents
- False translation of testimony
- Contradiction of testimony
- Lacking full disclosure of testimony due to threats or fear of danger
Many of our clients request our help supplementary to services of the UNHCR and other non-profit organizations, as they are victims of:
- Abuse (physical, verbal, sexual, domestic)
- Terrorism
- Threats
- Sectarian violence
- Severe medical ailments
- Persecution based on religion, nationality, or social status
Our Purpose in serving refugees is to assist them in preparing the best application or appeal possible. We value and respect their stories, which is why we take such care in noting all details pertaining to their case, translating their testimonies literally and effectively, and providing whatever correspondence may be necessary in order to complete their cases in an efficient manner.
Our services to refugees include, but are not limited to:
- Referral to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Amman
- Certified translation of testimony
- Mediation and correspondence with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, International Organization for Migration, and embassies
- Evaluation of Authentic Documents
- Acquisition of correct travel documents
- Preparation of proper documentation and paper work
- Counsel regarding relevant testimony and documents pertaining to:
- Role in the military
- Political affiliation
- Received threats
- Income/Aid
- Medical treatment
